Doris MaronHi, my name is Doris Maron. I was born on June 5th, 1948 in a small town in eastern Alberta, Canada. I was the seventh child in a family of nine and spent my childhood years growing up on a farm. These years are part of what molded me into who I am today - an Untamed Spirit still passionate about living life to the fullest and experiencing all I can while in this physical body.

I married at age nineteen. I had developed a very practical mind and had it all planned out. We would have our house with a fenced yard and two car garage before we had children. Yes, that happened. We were married five years before our first son was born. Two years later our daughter came into the world and three years after that our second son arrived. Unfortunately our marriage was not a happy one and I felt trapped – life was passing me by. I would experience moments of panic thinking I’d die before I would have a chance to experience all the things in life that I dreamed. So when my children were 5, 8 and 10 I chose to end the marriage and became a single Mom. Life was a struggle at times but we were all much happier. I believe I have the best children in the world.

At this time I went back to school to upgrade and re-educate myself. With my practical mind, I took business accounting courses. Obviously my creative abilities had been buried too deep inside to surface just yet. Amongst the many jobs I’ve had were; Telephone Operator, School Bus Driver (class 2 license), Truck Driver (class 1 license) Office Manager, Transportation Officer and Financial Advisor. One of my most memorable accomplishments was building my own home in 1993. I acted as Contractor, hired and scheduled all the trades, purchased all my materials and completed the job in three months. The house was a beautiful 1700+ square foot bungalow.

Doris' grandchildrenMy whole life has been about new experiences and change. Is it any wonder that I had to travel around the world on my motorcycle? I can remember, as a young child, wanting to travel so I could write stories about the places I’ve been. That is where my life is now. I do a lot of traveling and I’m writing a book about my travels around the world. I have no concerns of where I’ll go from here because I’ve learned to trust in the powers of the Universe. ‘When one is completely whole, all things will come to you’.

My children are adults with families of their own. I now have four wonderful grandsons and a granddaughter. I’m sure my children wonder if their mother will ever settle down, but they’ve accepted my untamed spirit lifestyle. I’m happy that I’ve learned to follow my heart.
